PM Modi Calls for Global Growth Through Cooperation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for countries to use their power to help others grow, rather than compete only for their own success. He shared this vision while addressing the Bloomberg New Economy Forum in New Delhi on October 13.

PM Modi said India believes in shared growth and creating opportunities for other countries. He highlighted how digital services, startups and clean energy are helping the country grow.

The Prime Minister said India’s startup count has risen from a few hundred in 2014 to more than 2.5 lakh today. He also noted that nearly half of these startups come from smaller cities.

On clean energy, PM Modi said India’s renewable energy capacity has grown from 75 gigawatts in 2014 to around 300 gigawatts today. He added that India had reached its target of getting 40% of its installed electricity capacity from non-fossil sources in November 2021, ahead of its 2030 deadline.

PM Modi also highlighted India’s role in global cooperation, including sharing digital systems and supplying vaccines to more than 100 countries during the COVID-19 pandemic.

He said India aims to offer reliability and stability in a world facing economic and political uncertainty.
