PM Modi Launches GatiShakti Multi Modal Connectivity Infrastructure Plan Worth Rs 100 Lakh Crore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the multi modal connectivity, Gati Shakti Plan, today, the 13th of October. The digital platform connectivity of big business and enterprises, including the ministries of India was launched today. The new Gati Shakti plan is going to be worth Rs. 100 lakh crores.

On Wednesday, Mr. Narendra Modi launched the modal plan at Pragati Bhavan, New Delhi. The Gati Shakti modal was launched, aiming to build Next Generation Infrastructure, improving the lifestyle with ‘Ease of Living as well as Ease of Doing Business.’

After the launch Mr. Narendra Modi said, “We are laying a foundation for the next 25 years. This national master plan will give ‘gatishakti’ to development plans of the 21st century and will help in the timely completion of these plans.”

According to the Central Government, the multi modal connectivity envisions an integrated and seamless connectivity for the movement of people, goods and services from one mode of transport to another. It would also facilitate the last mile connectivity of infrastructure and also reduce travel time for people. Under the Gati Shakti plan, a digital platform has been created which will bring 16 ministries including rail and roadways together for integrated planning and coordinated implementation of infrastructure connectivity projects.

With the Gati Shakti modal, the information regarding the upcoming connectivity projects, businesses, areas, surrounding environment and other communities would be available. It would also incorporate the infrastructure schemes of various Ministries and State Governments like Bharatmala, Sagarmala, inland waterways, dry/land ports and other schemes.

In addition, information regarding the economic and business developing sectors like textile clusters, pharmaceutical clusters, defence corridors, electronic parks, industrial corridors, fishing clusters, agri zones would also be found. These would cover these information to improve connectivity and make Indian businesses more competitive. It would also leverage technology extensively including spatial planning tools and future vision of growing business.

Gati Shakti is going to help in fulfilling the ambitious targets set by the Union Government for the period of 2024-2045, including expanding the the length of the national highway network to 2 lakh route km, creation of over 200 airports, heliports and water aerodromes and doubling the gas pipeline network to 35,000 km.

The GatiShakti modal is expected to bring changes in the Indian economic and business culture by 2024-2025.
