Meghalaya: With a heart-warming gesture, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tried to play drums along with the folk dancers at a cultural event organised to welcome him at Mawphlang village which is 25 km away from Shillong in East Khasi hills district of Meghalaya on Saturday morning. On his visit to Meghalaya, PM Modi interacted with the local people, flagged off new passenger trains for the northeast and also laid the foundation stone for a football stadium ‘Ampati’ in Friday.
Mawphlang is famous for the forest having an amazing life form of plants, flowering trees, orchids and butterflies -an ideal destination for nature lovers. PM Modi also interacted with members of self help groups and laid focus on rural livelihood in north-eastern states.
