On the eve of the nation’s 75th Independence Day,  the 14th of August, the President of India Ram Nath Kovind welcomed the Indian athletes of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics for a ‘High Tea.’

The Sports Authority of India released video footage of the event’s top Indian athletes. On Sunday, the 15th of August, all the Indian contingent would also attend the Red Fort Independence Day festivities, when Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi would meet and engage with the athletes.

All attendees would also visit the Prime Minister’s home.

In the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, India took home seven medals in the Tokyo Olympics, including one gold, two silver, and four bronze. India’s previous highest Olympic medal tally was six medals, two silver and four bronze in London.
