President Ram Nath Kovind Visits Ayodhya, Says Without Ram Ayodhya Is Not Ayodhya

On the 29th of August, Mr. Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India, visited Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. During his visit, Mr. Ram Nath Kovind offered prayers to Lord Ram and inspected the ongoing works of the grand Ayodhya Temple.

Besides visiting the Ayodhya temple site, the President of India inaugurated a Ramayan Conclave and said, “Without Ram, Ayodhya is not Ayodhya. Ayodhya exists where there is Ram. Lord Ram resides permanently in this city, and hence in the true sense, this place is Ayodhya.”

Speaking at the event of the Ramayana Conclave inauguration, Mr. Ram Nath Kovind said, “We should try to see Ram and Sita in everyone. Ram belongs to all, and Ram is in all.” He further said, “I feel that when my family members named me (Ram Nath Kovind,) they were possibly having the feeling of respect and affection towards Ram Katha and Lord Ram, which is seen in the common public.”

In addition, Mr.Ram Nath Kovind visited Hanumangarhi Temple and offered prayers. He also launched several development projects under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme, for the tourists and devotees visiting Ayodhya.

It is to be noted, Ayodhya was the last destination of the President of India’s four day Uttar Pradesh visit. He reached Ayodhya on the afternoon of the 29th of August, Sunday, after traveling from Lucknow on a special train. After the Supreme Court’s 2019 verdict in the long standing Ayodhya-Babri Masjid Land dispute, this was the first visit of Mr. Ram Nath Kovind to Ayodhya.

Mr. Ram Nath Kovind was accompanied by his family, the Governor of Uttar Pradesh Ms. Anandiben Patel and the Union Minister of State for Railways and Textiles Mr. Darshana Vikram Jardosh, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Yogi Adityanath, and his deputies Mr. Keshav Prasad Maurya and Mr. Dinesh Sharma.
