Hyderabad: Rajya Sabha MP K. Keshava Rao announced his decision to join the Congress party, citing the challenging times faced by the party and the nation. Rao disclosed his consultations with senior party leaders in Delhi and shared plans to reunite with his daughter Vijayalakshmi at home. He also expressed willingness to resign from his Rajya Sabha seat if deemed necessary.
Reflecting on Congress’s commitment to Telangana, Rao highlighted key milestones such as the formation of the Forum for Telangana and the CPDE under Bagareddy’s leadership. He recounted the sacrifices made by leaders, including hunger strikes and resignations, in the pursuit of Telangana statehood.
Rao criticized the perception of India being controlled by a single family and stressed the importance of preserving party unity. Expressing gratitude for the respect shown by BRS and KCR, Rao outlined his decision to return to his political roots.
“It’s essential for speeches to be delivered with diplomacy,” Rao remarked, advocating for a more nuanced approach to political discourse.
