In Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua region, a major accident was reported on the 21st of January, Saturday.
In the accident, 5 people including a woman died and as many as 15 people were left injured when a mini bus plunged into a gorge in the late hours of the 20th of January, Friday night. The Kathua police official who reached the spot and launched a rescue operation confirmed the incident. The injured people were shifted to a nearby Billawar Hospital and are undergoing treatment. The rescue operation is underway and the toll of injured and deceased people could rise.
Getting into the details, the police who rushed to the spot after the accident said, the driver lost control due to which the bus fell into the gorge near Sila Village. The bus was travelling to Dhanu Parole village from Mondli, Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Mr. Manoj Sinha, the Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Jammu and Kashmir expressed grief over the accident and prayed for speedy recovery of the injured. He also ordered officials to register a case and launch an investigation into the incident.
