Samsung explosive much?

Samsung has been in the news recently for its exploding phones. The Galaxy Note 7 model, just exploded while on charge or on sleep mode. But, this time, the South Korean company is in the news for its washing machines exploding.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has warned of Samsung’s exploding machines. A law suit was filed in the U.S., against the firm saying the fault can lead to injury or death, said the BBC. Samsung’s washing machines are the second products in a month to face the condemnation of the safety watchdogs.

Both Samsung and CPSC said the washing machines produced from March 2011 to April 2016 have been affected. The Safety Commission reported the problem could be widespread. To which Samsung replied, “In rare cases, affected units may experience abnormal vibrations that could pose a risk of personal injury or property damage when washing bedding, bulky or water-resistant items.” However, models sold outside North America would not be affected said a spokesperson of the company.samsung

The company is also fighting a separate law suit in New Jersey, where customers complained their washing machines exploded during normal use. Samsung has further urged its customers with affected models to use the lower speed, delicate cycle when washing bedding, bulky or water-resistant materials as there have been no explosions reported while using this method.

Analysts estimate that this exploding phase could cause the company a loss of millions of dollars and also a fall in their share price.
