Sonia Gandhi, the interim President of the Indian National Congress (INC,) on the 6th of May, sought a few answers from the Central Government regarding post lockdown strategy.

Ms. Gandhi, said, “After May 17, what? And after, May 17 How? What criteria is the government using to judge how long the lockdown is to continue.”

The INC conducted a meeting with the INC ruled states’ chief ministers to discuss the ongoing lockdown, perspective of the Central Government and economic crises.

The meeting was attended by Rahul Gandhi, INC led state CMs, Manmohan Singh and other senior leaders of the Party.

Dr. Manmohan Singh said, “We need to know what will happen after lockdown 3.0.”

During the meeting, Ms. Gandhi asked the state governments to explain the measures taken by them and also discussed the issues of migrant labourers.

Ms. Gandhi, concerned about the safety and survival of the migrants across India, wrote many letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and sought help for them.

The INC even announced to pay for the train tickets for these migrant workers so they can reach home safety amid the lockdown.

The lockdown 3.0, imposed by the Central Government is proposed to end on the 17th of May.
