SpiceJet reduces flight fares yet again to increase the occupancy

‘Discount Scheme’ this seem to be the common promotional tag for the airlines these days. One of the Major domestic Airlines in India, SpiceJet announced yet another discount scheme.

The rolled out discount scheme resulting in the ticket fares starting as low as Rs 1,899 for flights across western and southern domestic network.

According to SpiceJet press release, “The latest sale offer Red Hot Fares with an all-inclusive starting ticket price of Rs 1,899 can be availed for flying on routes such as Mumbai-Goa, Ahmedabad-Mumbai, Bangalore-Hyderabad, Chennai-Bangalore, Pune-Bangalore, and many more”.

The Airline also announced that the travel period covered in this sale only valid during time span between July 15 to September 30, “The bookings for the three-day sale are on and would remain open till midnight, July 8”.

The airline said that people can book tickets for this offer through the SpiceJet website, online travel portals and travel agents. However, this sale is not available at SpiceJet’s call center or airport ticket offices. This is the second discount scheme launched by the airline in less than a month. However, frankly speaking these schemes are doing nothing to increase the passenger occupancy in the flights.
