New Delhi: With just couple of days ahead of Parliament session, Government is likely to nominate new names to the Rajya Sabha as few seats are vacant. The name which would be nominated for the Council of State are BJP Leader, Subramanian Swamy, a prominent member who spoke about Gandhi’s corruption in Supreme Court.
Former MP and cricket player Navjot Singh Sidhu, Malayalam actor Suresh Gopi, boxer Mary Kom, former planning commission member and economist Narendra Jadhav and veteran columnist Swapan Dasgupta.
According to a close source, the names have been sent to President Pranab Mukherjee for final declaration.
Currently, the upper House has 10 nominated members. The government recommends, President nominates members from those who have special knowledge or have special qualities in literature, science, art and social service.
