Indian railways ticketing system, is now indulging itself into a new schedule. According to the reports, the tatkal booking timings of the AC and Non- AC classes was changed and the new system will be available from June 15th.
Here are the revised Timings:
As for AC classes,Tatkal scheme online reservation counter will open at 10 a.m. on the previous day of journey from train originating station, and for the non-AC classes, it will be from 11 a.m.
In the past the, the Tatkal booking scheme opens at 10:00 a.m. for all classes on the previous day of journey from train origination station.
According to a senior railway official, the decision of changing the Tatkal timings was imposed in order to facilitate hassle-free booking by reducing the load on the booking server.”Staggering the timing for AC and non-AC Tatkal tickets will help reducing load at windows and the ticketing sites,” the official said.
Along with the above, Indian Railways brought another major change in the system by debarring all types of ticketing agents, including IRCTC agents from booking tickets for 30 minutes from the opening of bookings.
I.e,
General bookings : 8 a.m. to 8.30 a.m.
Tatkal AC classes : 10 a.m. to 10.30 a.m.
Tatkal non-AC classes: From 11 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.
