The mega Union Cabinet expansion is scheduled to be announced at 6:00 P.M., today, the 7th of July. 

According to sources, 43 new ministers would be inducted in the Central Cabinet, focusing on the upcoming 2024 General Elections. In a major development, hours before the Modi Cabinet 2.0, five union ministers including Harsh Vardhan, Ramesh Pokhriyal, Pratap Sarangi, Debasree Chaudhuri and Santosh Gangwar resigned from their respective posts.

With this, ahead of the Cabinet expansion, five Union ministry posts__ the Union Health Minister, the Union Education Minister, the Union Animal Husbandry Minister, the Union Labour Minister and the Women and Child Welfare Minister posts fell vacant.

The cabinet reshuffle is taking place after around a month long discussions and meetings.

Most of the meetings were held between Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J.P. Nadda.

In addition, recently, during one such meeting, the Prime Minister of India asked different ministries to submit a detailed report of their respective department and future vision for the progress and work.

So far, new names like Jyotiraditya Scindia, Sarbananda Sonowal, Anupriya Patel, Narayan Rane, Varun Gandhi, Baijayant Panda, Bhupendra Yadav and Dinesh Trivedi are expected to be included in the Cabinet.

In addition, the itish Kumar led Janata Dal United (JDU) leaders may also find a place in the restructured cabinet. The Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) faction group Pashupati Paras could also be in the reshuffled Cabinet. In addition, to attract the Scheduled Caste (SC,) the Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Other Backward Class (OBC) voters, the Union Government is likely to induct 12 SC, 8 ST and 27 OBCs ministers in the new Cabinet.

An official announcement regarding the new list of the Union Cabinet expansion would be made at 6:00 P.M., today, the 7th of July.
