Union Home Ministry Officially Says No Plan To Implement NRC Now

The Home Ministry of India, on the 4th of February, announced its stand on the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in India.

Nityanand Rai, the Minister of State Home Affairs, said,  “Till now, the Government has not taken any decision to prepare (NRIC) at the national level.”   The Home Ministry submitted a written reply regarding the NRC implementation and said, as of now, Central Government has no plan to impose NRC Nationwide.

The Home Ministry cleared all the rumours related to the NRC, NPR and the CAA.  Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally and said there are no detention camps set up as of now.

Mr. Modi said such rumours are being spread by the opposition, the Indian National Congress (INC,) trying to mislead people and citizens of India against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)

While the BJP is trying to clear its stand regarding the NRC and the National Population Register (NPR,) citizens of India are intensifying their protests against the CAA.
