KCR To Inaugurate JBS-MGBS Metro Line Soon

K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR,) the Chief Minister of Telangana, is scheduled to inaugurate the Jubilee Bus Station (JBS)-Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) Metro line on the 7th of February at 4:00 P.M.

On  the 31st of January, K.T. Rama Rao, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister of Telangana, confirmed the news regarding the inauguration of the new corridor.  However, back then, he did not reveal the inauguration date.

On the 12th of January, Commissioner for Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) J.K. Garg, Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) Managing Director N.V.S. Reddy and senior engineers conducted a clearance test, following which they issued a clearance certificate.  

The JBS-MGBS route on Corridor II of the Hyderabad Metro Rail would cover stations like JBS, Parade Grounds, Secunderabad West, Gandhi Hospital, Musheerabad, RTC X Road, Chikkadpally, Narayanguda, Sultan Bazar and MGBS.

Mr. Rao, on the 4th of February, took to his Twitter account and retweeted the official announcement regarding the date of the JBS-MGBS corridor inauguration by HMRL.  

HMRL took to Twitter and posted, “Hon’ble CM Mr. K.Chandrasekhar Rao will inaugurate Metro Corridor2(JBS -MGBS) on the 7th of this month at 4pm. With this 11km corridor, total operational length will be 69km(C1 29km +C3 29 +C2 11km.)”

The Metro services would be available for the public from the 7th of February.  The new Metro line would help commuters save time as by road, it takes 45 minutes to travel from JBS to MGBS, whereas by the Metro, they can make it in just 16 minutes.
