Two weeks in the office, Uttar Pradesh CM Adityanath Yogi is all set to make the bureaucratic reshuffle which follows the change of charge. The CM has approached his coworkers and the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) to make a list of the officials who are ‘honest and workaholic.’ The CM is also personally doing the groundwork in the selection of officers.
The CM also plans to be present at the departmental presentation that starts on Monday evening which will make decisions about the implementation of poll promises. This two week session not only will help in selecting officers but also boosting party’s chances in winning 2019 Lok Sabha elections. UP has 80 Lok Sabha members being the highest populous state and played a major role in 2014 BJPs clean sweep of the national elections.
The ministers have already been instructed by PM Modi to not make any transfer requests immediately after forming the new cabinet. A BJP leader with RSS background has said, “You would have seen that PM Modi has already asked the MPs not to bother the new government with making transfer requests. The idea is to emulate the example of the Modi government and that is why a lot of emphases is being made on appointing the right set of officers.”
BJP is often accused of following Hindutva, which is an inspiration from the ideological parent RSS. After taking charge, the CM has been working with the officers that were inherited from Akhilesh Yadav’s government. Rigzin Samphel is the only new officer appointed to the CMO. Which leads to the CM appointing new officials of his and party’s choice.
