During Char Dham Yatra, approximately 91 pilgrims died this year, confirmed the Uttarakhand Health Director-General.
On the 27th of May, Friday, Dr. Shailaja Bhatt said, “Most of the pilgrims died due to heart attacks. Also, health services in Char Dham have been strengthened as compared to earlier.”
Notably, the Char Dham Yatra concerned authority deployed approximately 169 doctors in Uttarakhand for pilgrims this year.
It is to be noted that the Char Dham Yatra opened for pilgrims on the 3rd of May, followed by the Kedarnath Gate which opened on the 6th of May and the Badrinath Gate reopened on the 8th of May.
