The Himachal Pradesh CM, Virabhadra Singh along with his wife Pratibha Singh and the other accused were granted bail on Monday by the Delhi Court. They were charged under the disproportionate assets case.
Virender Kumar Goyal, the additional sessions judge granted bail with a bond of Rs. 1 Lakh and also same amount surety. The judge took cognizance of the charge sheet that was filed by the CBI. In this regard, he summoned all the accused to the jail, who appeared and applied for bail.
The accused include Tarini Infrastructure Managing Director Vakamulla Chandrashekhar, LIC agent Anand Chauhan, Universal Apples Associates (Himachal Pradesh) owner Chunni Lal Chauhan, Lavan Kumar Roach, Ram Prakash Bhatia, Prem Raj, and Joginder Singh Ghalta.
Singh was also accused by the CBI of amassing assets worth Rs. 10.30 crore in between May 2009 and June 2012. He was the Union Steel Minister at this time. The LIC agent is accused of helping Singh invest all the unaccounted money in life insurance policies.
