In Uttarakhand, a woman and her six-year-old daughter were allegedly gang-raped, confirmed police on June 27.
Getting into details, they were raped in a moving car in Haridwar’s Roorkee. Notably, the woman was on her way to home from a religious place with her daughter, when the accused, identified as Sonu and his friends allegedly offered a lift to the victim. Later the accused gang raped the woman and her six-year-old daughter.
The Roorkee SP Pramendra Doval said some friends of the man were already in the car and dumped the body in a canal, after the crime.
The woman who was in her senses somehow managed to reach to the police station and registered a complaint, following which the police registered an FIR.
The police registered a case under the relevant section of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the POCSO Act and launched an investigation into the matter.
