Esha Singh Wins Silver After Dramatic 25m Pistol Shoot-Off

India’s Esha Singh won the silver medal in the women’s 25m pistol event at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya on Monday. She finished second behind China’s Xiao Jiaruixuan after a series of tense shoot-offs.

Esha entered the final in eighth place, scoring 580-22x in qualification. She then made a strong start, hitting all five shots in her opening series.

The Indian shooter survived several close moments during the elimination rounds. She defeated North Korea’s Kim Hyon Suk in the fight for the bronze medal before advancing to the gold-medal contest against Xiao.

In the final shoot-off, Esha scored two hits, while Xiao managed three. Esha therefore settled for silver. Their combined score of 38 hits matched the Games Record set at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games.

This is Esha’s third Asian Games silver, adding to her two silver medals from Hangzhou 2023.
