A brief insight into ‘Mahendra Singh Dhoni’ as he turns a year older and a little more wiser: The captain who has it all. The World Cup, ICC Champions trophy, T20 WorldCup, Test Ranking Number 1, IPL trophy, Champions League trophy you name it. He won it all. He is Indian ODI skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He is now 34 and his antics beg the question what next? He recently announced retirement to his test career inorder to spend more time with the family.

He is the captain who preferred to lead the country in the World Cup than to be with his baby girl at the time of her birth. He is the greatest cricketing soldier
who preferred his country over his family. His coolness in the field and satrical calm infront of the media earned him a spot among one of the most brilliant captains of the world. He is one of the best finishers living in the modern day cricket.
But that is all one side of the coin. Along with his fans, he also summed up many haters in his own country. Perhaps he is the only Indian captain, loved through out the world, but hated by many in his own country. His alleged rivalry with Yuvraj and current so called rift with Virat is turning out to be one of the blackest marks of his career.
But all that aside, I have no doubt in saying that he is one of the greatest cricketing legends who made their names in the book of history. He has celebrated many birthdays with his team mates in his past ( with champagne bottles if I have to mention it), but this time it is different as his new born baby Zoya will be present wish him the best in the coming journey ahead.
Here are some stats in the “Think Tank’s” career:
