Mr. Rahul Dravid, the Indian Cricketer is all set to take over as the national cricket team’s head coach for the Indian Men’s Cricket Team.
Mr. Dravid is going to replace Mr. Ravi Shastri, the outgoing Coach of the Indian Cricket Team. After the Test 20 World Cup in the United Arabs Emirates (UAE,) Ravi Shastri would quit as the Indian Cricket Team Coach. The decision was taken by the Board of Cricket Control of India (BCCI) after a meeting between the BCCI members and Rahul Dravid.
As of now, Rahul Dravid has been in charge of the India A and Under 19 set up. Under his guidance, many players like Rishabh Pant, Avesh Khan, Prithvi Shaw, Hanuma Vihari and Shubman Gill have played and became a part of the Indian Cricket team.
He also is the current head of the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. After being appointed as the Coach of the Indian Cricket Team, Mr. Rahul Dravid, would quit as the NCA in Bengaluru.
After Rahul Dravid agreed to become the coach of the Indian Cricket Team, the BCCI official, who wished to be anonymous said, “Yes, Rahul has agreed to coach the Indian team till 2023 World Cup. Initially, he was reluctant but it is understood that president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah had a meeting with Rahul on the sidelines of the IPL final where they were able to convince him.” The official further added, “It won’t be an interim role.”
While Mr. Rahul Dravid would be the coach, Mr. Paras Mhambrey is expected to be the bowling coach while Vikram Rathour is likely to continue as batting coach.
Mr. Rahul Dravid is going to be the coach of the Indian Cricket Team till 2023 World Cup.
