After Durgam Cheruvu Flyover, HMDA To Construct Skywalk In Hyderabad

After the Durgam Cheruvu flyover inauguration, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) is all set to construct a skywalk project. 

The HMDA secured administrative sanction from the Telangana Government for the skywalk at Uppal.

In regard to this, the HMDA finalised agencies and tenders to start the work.

A government official close to the source said, the skywalk at Uppal would be the first of its kind structure being planned in Hyderabad.

The blueprint of the skywalk is designed to be 660 metres, connecting all the four sides, including the Metro station.

The skywalk is expected to take a year to complete.

In addition, the officials said, the new skywalk would be equipped with a host of facilities, including elevators and escalators to circumnavigate the junction.

The work is likely to be launched soon and is estimated to cost Rs.36.50 crores.

It would be executed in two stages, while one stage would include the main provisions such as the skywalk, lifts and escalators, electrical, fire safety and landscaping,. The second stage would include the construction of the skywalk roofing and commercial spaces.
