On the 22nd of September, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, the Speaker of the Telangana Assembly, announced Akbaruddin Owaisi, the Floor Leader of the All India Majlis e Ittehadul (AIMIM,) was appointed the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC.)
The Telangana Assembly Speaker and Gutta Sukhender Reddy, the Council Chairman of the Telangana Assembly, announced the members of the PAC.
After the Indian National Congress (INC) lost the status of the opposition party in Telangana, the AIMIM became the strongest opposition party against the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS.)
In the 2018 Assembly elections, the INC won 19 Assembly seats, whereas the AIMIM won 7 seats. However, recently, 12 Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) of the INC merged with the TRS after Uttam Kumar Reddy, who won a Parliament seat in the 2019 elections, resigned from the MLA post.
After Uttam Kumar Reddy’s resignation and the merger, the total strength of the INC MLAs reduced to 6 and that of the MLAs in the AIMIM remained 7, due to which, the AIMIM now holds the position of the opposition in the State.
Solipeta Ramalingareddy was appointed as the Chairman of the Public Estimates Committee (PEC) and Jeevan Reddy was elected as the Chairman of the Public Undertakings Committee (PUC.)
There are 13 members in total in each committee.

Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy, Maganthi Gopinath, Muthireddy Yadagiri Reddy, Jajula Surender, Koneru Konappa, Chirumarthi Lingaiah, Madhavaram Krishna Rao, Jayaprakash Reddy, Rajasinghe, Balasani Lakshminarayana, Lalitha, Mirza Riyas Ul Hasan and Bhupal Reddy.
Members of PUC:
Asannagari Jeevan Reddy, Korukanti Chandar, Shankar Nayak, Kalvakuntla Vidyasagar Rao, Prakash Goud, Abraham, Dasari Manohar Reddy, Nallamothu Bhaskar Rao, Ahmed Pasha Quadri, Jeevan Reddy, Farooq Hussain, Naradasu Lakshman Rao and Puranam Satish.
With the announcement of all the committees and their members, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy adjourned the Telangana Assembly sine die. The 22nd of September was the last day of the Telangana Assembly session.
