Ahead of the Nagarjuna Sagar by elections, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Telangana, addressed a public meeting.
According to the sources, Mr. Sanjay Kumar addressed a meeting of Dalits and highlighted the contribution of the BJP for them. Mr. Kumar said the BJP is the only party committed to the development of the Dalits, backward classes and weaker sections of the society.
Bandi Sanjay Kumar said, “We do not discriminate about caste, poverty and solving the problems of the weaker sections alone was the objecting of the BJP (sic.)”
Mr. Sanjay Kumar said, the BJP always stood for the rights of the Scheduled Caste (SC,) Scheduled Tribe (STs) and Other Backward Class (OBC.) He said, it was the BJP that fought for justice when Dalit youth were subjected to cruelty in the Nerella sand mafia incident in Telangana.
Taking a dig at the opposition Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) Mr. Sanjay Kumar said, some political parties are engaged in mudslinging against the BJP, but they should know “what happens when one spits in the sun.”
Criticising K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, Mr. Sanjay Kumar said KCR cheated Dalits since the time he had come to power. Not only Dubbaka, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC,) the BJP would also win in the upcoming Nagarjuna Sagar by elections with the support of backward classes and Dalits.
