Bengaluru Court Grants Bail To Amulya Leona

A Bengaluru court, on the 11th of June, granted bail to Amulya Leona who raised the slogan of ‘Pakistan zindabad’ at an anti-CAA-NRC rally on February 20, last night.

Amulya was arrested on the 20th of February, for raising slogan “Pakistan Zindabad” at a rally against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA.)   The rally was organised by Hindu Muslim Sikh Issai Federation and was attended by Asaduddin Owaisi, the President of the All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM.)

She was denied bail on the 11th of June by Session Court Judge Vidhyadhar Shirahatti.  He said, she might abscond if granted bail.

She was arrested after claimed links with Maoists by the Bengaluru Police.  The police also filed a sedetion case against Amulya for anti national activities and instigating her friends to carry out protest rallies against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)

This is not the first time, Amulya filed for bail, however, after 3 months, she was granted bail.

She was denied bail previously with an argument, she might influence others and is threat to the nation.

Karnataka BJP leader, posted a tweet allegging AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisis, as he was present when Amulya shouted the controversial slogan.  In a tweet, the Karnataa“Anti-CAA Activist Amulya Leona shouts PAKISTAN ZINDABAD in the presence of AIMIM Chief @asadowaisi at Bengaluru. Truth is that protests against #CAA are a joint venture between Pakistan & Anti-National Forces led by @INCIndia. Those who support Pakistan should go there forever,” it said in a tweet.

Amulya was give default bail as the Bengaluru Police was unable to produce evidence and charge sheet against her within 90 days, hence she was granted bail.
