BJP Asks Additional Security For Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Meets Telangana DGP 

A delegation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders met the Director General of Police (DGP) M. Mahendar Reddy.  

The meeting was in the wake of the recent attack on Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the President of the BJP in Telangana unit. The meeting was held on the evening of the 19th of March.

The BJP delegation submitted a memorandum and demanded for additional security for Mr. Sanjay Kumar. The BJP leaders said, since Bandi Sanjay Kumar took over as the BJP President, several incidents of attack on him and his convoy have been reported.

Highlighting such incidents, the delegation said during the Dubbak by election he was attacked, again during the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections he was attacked. During the GHMC elections, mobs tried to attack his car at Necklace Road. In another incident at Kodad, a few unidentified goons armed with sticks and rods attacked Mr. Sanjay Kumar. They also demanded a case to be registered for the recent Kodad incident.

The delegation led by K. Vijayarama Rao, said, “Since there have been many incidents of attack on him, we request the DGP to increase security cover for Sanjay.”

Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the Member of Parliament (MP) of Karimnagar is actively campaigning for the Party in all the recent elections. He also planned to aggressively campaign for the upcoming Nagarjuna Sagar by election. Mr. Sanjay Kumar also planned a padyatra for the same.

The Nagarjuna Sagar by election is scheduled to be held on the 17th of April. The major parties contesting the elections are the BJP, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the Indian National Congress (INC.)

The results of the by election would be announced on the 2nd of May.
