The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) organised a 5K run in Jogulamba Gadwal on Friday, October 9, to mark the 10th anniversary of the district’s formation.
The run began at the Old Bus Stand and ended at YSR Chowk. Participants passed through Krishnaveni Chowk and Ambedkar Chowk during the event.
Basu Hanumanthu Naidu, the BRS district in-charge, flagged off the run. He thanked former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao for the formation of Gadwal district and its development under the previous BRS government.
Hanumanthu Naidu highlighted several facilities set up in the district during the BRS government’s tenure. These included a new Collectorate, a medical college, a nursing college and a Superintendent of Police office.
He said the event was not just a race but also aimed to promote health awareness. He also thanked the organisers and BRS workers for their support.
The run was organised following a call by BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao. The party is also planning events across Telangana to mark the formation of districts.
