COVID-19 Update – Telangana Governor Says ‘Situation Is Under Control In Telangana’

Tamilisai Soundararajan, the Governor of Telangana, on the 27th of April, said the situation in the State is under control.  

Ms. Soundararajan who is monitoring the situation closely said the State Government is doing its best to contain the spread of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

During a press conference, Ms. Soundararajan said, “Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’’s Government is doing its best to contain the disease.  The spread of the infection is under control and the positive cases curve has almost started flattening in the last few days.”

Besides, three districts out of the total 33 districts of Telangana reported zero cases of COVID-19 infection in the last 24 hour.   Ms. Soundararajan briefed the media about the COVID-19 situation and said, “The chief secretary and the IAS officers took a helicopter journey to Suryapet and some other districts to personally monitor the control measures.” 

The State Government also got an approval from the Central Government to conduct plasma therapy on COVID-19 positive patients in the State.  The plasma therapy would boost the immunity of the patients infected by COVID-19 virus, increasing the chances of speedy recovery and cure.

Till date, Telangana reported a total of 1,002 cases of the Novel Coronavirus with 25 deaths.
