In an absurd case, a 21 year old B.Comm student killed a 12 year old boy after being inspired by the real life related TV show, Crime Patrol. The show tells stories of all the crime cases solved and sometimes unsolved cases around the country.

Twenty one year old Muneer was a huge fan of the TV show, Crime Patrol. His interest turned into an obsession and he ended up kidnapping his neighbor and out of fear killed an innocent 12 year old boy.

The victim, Uroojuddin Ahmed, a madrasa student was found dead in a lake in Mylardevpalli area. The boy went missing last week and his parents launched a missing report case. The police found CCTV footage of the victim on a two wheeler with another person. The parents recognized him as Muneer, their neighbor.

Muneer was taken into custody on Thursday and he confessed to the crime. Muneer also led the police to the crime scene where they found the boys body.

SI, M. Srinivas Rao spoke to Deccan Chronicle and said, “During the investigation, we questioned locals and came across neighbor Muneeruddin. The family of the boy had suspected Muneeruddin. We questioned him on Saturday and let him off.” The accused fled to Mumbai after his initial questioning, leaving a note saying he was humiliated by the police. But Muneer later came back to Hyderabad.

Police informed a news daily,”The culprit planned to demand a ransom of Rs. 25 lakh to Rs. 50 lakh from the victim’s family. However, Muneer developed cold feet to execute the ransom plan and killed the boy.” Muneer has been arrested and sent to judicial remand.
