The Telangana Police, on the 3rd of November, resorted to a lathicharge in the Dubbaka Assembly constituency.

On the 3rd of November, Telangana’s Dubbaka Assembly constituency is conducting its by elections.

Despite orders and rules to conduct smooth and peaceful voting amid the Novel Coronaviruspandemic, many supporters of political parties devolved into a fight.

Due to the fight and scuffle, tensions escalated in the Kothapali village of Dubbaka constituency, leading to a mild lathi charge by the State police.

The supporters of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) fought before a polling booth.

The Dubbaka constituency has almost 1.98 lakh voters, for which 315 polling stations are organised. High security has been arranged for smooth conduct of the elections. Paramilitary forces were also deployed in the sensitive areas of Dubbaka constituency.

The Telangana State Election Commission (SEC) followed protocols of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 for the safety of the voters.

Voters were asked to wear a face mask and were provided with sanitizers and gloves at the polling centre.

Three major parties, the Indian National Congress (INC,) the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) are fighting to win the elections.

The three candidates of the TRS, the BJP and the INC are Ramalinga Reddy’s wife Solipeta Sujatha Reddy, M. Raghunandan Rao and C. Srinivas Reddy, respectively.

Voting started at 7:00 A.M., and would continue till evening 5:00 P.M.

The counting of votes would be held on the 10th of November.
