Shane Watson Announces Retirement From All Forms Of Cricket Today

Former Australian Cricketer and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all rounder Shane Watson on the 3rd of November, announced his retirement from all forms of competitive cricket. 

Shane Watson took to Twitter and said, “This closing chapter is going to be so hard to top, but I am going to try. I truly am forever grateful to have lived this amazing dream. Now onto the next exciting one…”

Shane Watson, 39 year old, cricketer in 2016 had retired from international cricket and in 2019 he retired from Australian Big Bash league.

Speaking about his retirement from Cricket, Shane Watson said,“It all started as a dream as a young kid saying to my Mum, as I watched a Test match, that I want to play for Australia. Now as I officially announce my retirement from all cricket I feel crazily lucky to live my dream.”

He further added, “This closing chapter is going to be so hard to top, but I am going to try. I truly am forever grateful to have lived this amazing dream. Now onto the next exciting one…”

In his cricket career, Shane Watson played 59 Tests, 190 one day internationals (ODIs) and 58 Twenty 20 internationals (T20Is) at the international level.

The legendary Australian cricketer also won World Cups for the Australian team in 2007 and 2015.

In IPL career, he started with Rajasthan Royals, following which he shifted to Royal Bengal Challengers and then he was in Chennai Super Kings. 

Since 2017, Shane Watson has been playing as a CSK player.

Watson played 145 IPL matches and scored 3874 runs at a strike rate of 137.91.
