Central Government Releases Rs. 2,200 Crores For Air Quality Improvement

The Central Government released Rs. 2,200 crores as the first instalment to 15 Indian states for air quality improvement.

Nirmala Sitharaman, the Finance Minister of India, announced the money ahead of Diwali celebrations.

The Finance Ministry of India took to Twitter and announced, “The Government, based on the recommendations of the 15th Finance Commission, has released Rs. 2,200 crores as the first installment to 15 states for the improvement of air quality measures in their million-plus cities.”

The undertaking or measures would help the beneficiary states to improve air quality measures in their respective region.

The 15 states include Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
