The land dispute surrounding KCR’s Erravelli farmhouse took a fresh turn in Telangana after BRS leader T Harish Rao demanded an independent judicial probe into land transactions and the assets of both the KCR and A.Revanth Reddy families.
Chief Minister A.Revanth Reddy had earlier raised allegations of land irregularities under the previous BRS government and ordered an inquiry into land around former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s farmhouse in Erravelli. He also questioned the extent of land linked to the farmhouse.
Responding to the allegations, Harish Rao challenged the government to appoint a sitting High Court or Supreme Court judge to examine the issue. He said the probe should cover transactions under Dharani and Bhu Bharati, along with properties included in the 22-A prohibited land list. He also sought a white paper on additions and deletions from the prohibited list.
Harish Rao further alleged that Revanth Reddy and his family owned around 308 acres and challenged the Chief Minister to agree to the same scrutiny for both sides. The allegation has been disputed and has not been independently established as fact.
The KCR land controversy has now widened beyond the farmhouse, bringing land records, Dharani, Bhu Bharati and 22-A properties into the centre of the political debate.
