Fuel prices continue to rise in Hyderabad, giving no relief to the citizens. In the past three days, the diesel and petrol prices increased twice.
On Friday, the 1st of October, the prices hit a new high with a hike of 26 paise (petrol) and 33 paise (diesel.) With this, the current prices of petrol and diesel are Rs. 106 and Rs. 98.39 per litre, respectively.
Mr. G. Vinay Kumar, the President of the Telangana State Petrol Dealer Association, said, “We were expecting the prices to go down by at least Rs. 4 each by September end. However, due to the increase in the international crude oil prices, the dynamic pricing system is back again and fuel prices in the city will likely go up further in the next two weeks.”
He also said, the citizens should not expect any relief as due to the high demand and fluctuations in crude oil prices, the petrol and diesel rate would continue to rise.
Besides Hyderabad, metropolitan cities like Mumbai, Chennai,Delhi and Bengaluru also witnessed a hike in the fuel prices.
The petrol prices in Delhi is at Rs. 101.89 per liter with an increase of 25 paise and diesel price at Rs. 90.17 with a hike of 30 paise.
The petrol price in Chennai per litre is at Rs. 99.58 with a hike of 12 paise and the diesel is priced at Rs. 94.74 per litre with a hike of 19 paise.
In Mumbai, the petrol price per litre is Rs. 107.95 with a hike of 24 paise and the diesel prices at Rs. 97.82 per litre with a hike of 32 paise.
Petrol prices in Bengaluru are at Rs. 105.44 per litre with a hike of 26 paise while diesel price remained at Rs. 95.70 per litre with a hike of 32 paise.
State owned fuel retailers, the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., (IOC,) the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) and the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd., (HPCL) resume daily price revision. Everyday fuel prices are updated at 6:00 A.M. Fuel prices differ from state to state depending on the incidence of local taxes such as VAT and freight charges.
