The counting of votes for the GHMC elections started at 8:00 A.M., and the final results was announced at 10:15 P.M.
As per the sources, the State Election Commission announced the final results late night.
The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) won the elections with the majority seats, followed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) the All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM.)
There was a close fight between the BJP and the AIMIM for the second spot.
Final results have been announced for the 149 out of 150 wards of the GHMC.
According to the official results, TRS has won 55 wards, BJP 48, AIMIM 44 and Indian National Congress 2.
The result for Neredmet ward was stayed due to Swastik mark issue as per the High Court order.
The recounting for the Neredmet division would be conducted soon following which the results would be announced.
The AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi thanked all the voters and party workers for their support.
Meanwhile, the TRS and the BJP cadres burst firecrackers and celebrated victory in Hyderabad.
The BJP leader J.P. Nadda said, “The GHMC results show rejection of Dynastic,Corrupt & Appeasement politics. I Congratulate State President @bandisajay & hardworking @BJP4Telangana Karyakartas for their spirited efforts that led to great success. Gratitude to people of Hyderabad for their faith & support.”
