K.T. Rama Rao, the Working President of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) on the 29th of November, campaigned for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections.
On the 29th of November, all the major parties conducted campaigns as it was the last day for the GHMC election campaign.
While KTR campaigned for the TRS, Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah campaigned for the BJP.
On the last day, KTR hit out at the BJP and said the Party only knew two things: ‘jumla’ (fake promises) and ‘hamla’ (attack.)
KTR said, speaking at campaign rallies at Goshamahal, Sanath Nagar, and Secunderabad constituencies, also asked what the Bharatiya Janata Party led National Democratic Alliance had done for the City in the last six years.
“Tell me what the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) did to Hyderabad in the last six years? Who brought the prestigious Apple, Amazon, and other major IT companies to Hyderabad? It is the BJP Government which cancelled the ITIR project sanctioned by the UPA government for Hyderabad and acted against the hopes of youth in Telangana. (The) BJP knows only two things, first is jumla and second is hamla.”
Mr. Rao further lashed out at Amit Shah for saying Telangana is following Nizam culture. KTR said, “Union Minister Amit Shah is saying ours is Nizam culture. Mahatma Gandhi, who is from your own Gujarat in 1920 said Hyderabad culture is Ganga-Jamuna ‘tehzeeb’ and people coexist here peacefully and the city stands as an example to India.”
Commenting on Shah’s statement that no communal riots took place in India, the TRS leader reminded Mr. Shah that communal clashes took place in Delhi during the United States of America (U.S.A.,) President Donald Trump’s visit. The violence of India during Mr. Trump’s visit became headlines of international media.
Criticising the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, KTR said, “You know right what will happen in Telangana when crimes happen against women?” Mr. Rao commented in relation to the Hathras gang rape case.
KTR said, “Hyderabad has been peaceful for the past six years. There has not been a single incident of communal tension. Today, they only want to divide people in the name of religion. I urge you all not to support such parties.”
Rao also reacted strongly to the state BJP president Bandi Sanjay’s “surgical strike” comment and said, “Do surgical strikes on poverty, corruption and on those who commit crimes against women, not on Hyderabad. Today, for a few votes and seats they are spoiling the peace and harmony of Hyderabad.”
Concluding the GHMC campaign for the TRS, KTR highlighted the achievements of the Party, under the leadership of K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana.
KTR pointed out such achievements as the Kalyana Lakshmi, the KCR Kit, the Annapurna Canteen, the Basthi Dawakhana, the Ambedkar Overseas scholarships, the Jyothirao Phule Scholarship, among many others developments in the State.
The TRS Government would also resume Rs. 10,000 financial assistance distribution to flood affected victims from the 7th of December.
The distribution was halted due to the GHMC election which is scheduled to be held on the 1st of December.
The major parties in the GHMC elections fray are the TRS, the BJP, the All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and the Indian National Congress (INC.)
The results of the GHMC elections would be announced on the 4th of December.
Stay tuned for further updates.
