Domalpenta: Former minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA Harish Rao has strongly criticized the Congress government, accusing it of failing to protect state projects and allowing the illegal diversion of Krishna waters by Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing the media, Harish Rao expressed frustration over being denied permission to enter the SLBC tunnel, where relief efforts continue for trapped workers. He condemned the government’s inefficiency, stating, “Even after six days, there is no clarity on the whereabouts of those stuck inside.” He reminded that Rs. 3,300 crore was previously spent on SLBC by the then state government, while the Central Government invested Rs. 3,900 crore, yet the project remains in distress.

Harish Rao also accused the Andhra Pradesh government of diverting Krishna waters illegally, while the Congress government fails to take action. He questioned why the state is silent on AP’s Banakacharla project on the Godavari but rushes to the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) with complaints about Telangana’s water usage. He alleged that the government has completely failed in safeguarding the state’s water rights.
