Counting of votes for the recently held Huzurabad Assembly by election started at 8:00 A.M., today, the 2nd of November.
Counting of votes started at 8:00 A.M., at the SRR Government Degree College in Karimnagar town. The State Election Commission (SEC,) made all the arrangements for the smooth conduct of counting of votes. The Karimnagar District Collector Mr. R.V. Karnan is supervising all the arrangements and the conduct of the counting of votes.
A total of 14 tables have been arranged for counting 2,05,236 votes, as many as 86.64 voters’ turnout was recorded in Huzurabad Assembly constituency. The counting of votes is going to be held in 22 rounds.
It is to be noted, after the resignation of Mr. Eatala Rajender as the Huzurabad MLA and the TRS member, the Huzurabad Assembly seat fell vacant. With the political tension between Mr. Eatala Rajender and the TRS President Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Huzurabad by election is said to be a serious battle between the BJP and the TRS. Since Mr. Eatala Rajender joined the BJP and is to contest the Huzurabad by election on a BJP ticket, the chances of victory of the BJP and the TRS are at 50-50. Both the parties are trying to get the attention of voters and gain the maximum number of votes for their respective MLA candidates.
The counting of votes would continue till late evening of the 2nd of November, following which the results would be announced.
Stay tuned for further updates.
