The Central Government’s Inter Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) formed to review the ground level situation of the COVID-19 visited Khairatabad in Hyderabad, Telangana.
The IMCT team reached Hyderabad on the 25th of April and would stay till the 27th of April, and collect the ground level details regarding the Coronavirus infection.
The team went to Khairtabad Zone, Humayun Nagar Containment Zone and discussed the situation with the officers in charge there. They even sprayed special sanitation.
D.S. Lokesh Kumar, the Commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC,) accompanied the team and briefed them about the steps taken for prevention.
Later, the Central team inspected the government quarantine center set up at Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital, a central drug store located in the same premises.
The officials of Telangana, handling the COVID-19 situation explain medicines and routines given for the treatment of the patients positive for the Coronavirus. The official said, drugs are dispatched by special vehicles to the district hospitals, primary health centers and indigent hospitals.
The team of IMCT included senior physician Dr. Chandrashekhar Gedam, Director of National Nutrition Institute Dr. Hemalatha, Director of Consumer Affairs Department S.S. Thakur and the Vice Chancellor of National Disaster Agency.
After the visit, the team would submit a brief report of the situation to the Government of India (GoI) about the pandemic situation. The complete report would include measures taken during the lockdown, medical facilities for the patients, red zone areas, police deployment, supply of commodities, social distancing and other guidelines of the lockdown.
