Mr. Indrakaran Reddy, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Minister highlighted spiritual highness, planned development of temples under the leadership of Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana.

On the 20th of June, Mr. Indrakaran Reddy attended the Adhyatmika Dinotsavam, organized as a part of the 21 days celebration of the Telangana Formation Day.  During the event, he disclosed the details of the progress report of the Debt Department.  He said, the spiritual glory of the Telangana government under the leadership of the spiritually minded Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has given priority to temples, festivals and celebrations for the traditions of this region. 

After the formation of Saurashtra, our festivals and celebrations got world fame. In self-governance, Telangana acquired the spiritual beauty of its own entity.  The BRS Minister said, the state of Telangana is prosperous in all fields, green and prosperous with happiness. KCR’s 9 year rule was a witness to that. 

Mr. Indrakaran Reddy said, Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao started the development of temples with the idea of developing the state spiritually along with all the sectors.  Temples are being developed in a planned way like nowhere else in the country.  It is a matter of pride for all of us to make Yadadri, the birthplace of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha, one of the great shrines of the country.

M.A & U.D:

  • Yadagirigutta Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, which is known as one of the oldest shrines in the country, has been reconstructed at a cost of around Rs.1,200 crores. VTDA has acquired 35 acres of land for the expansion of Vemulawada Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy Temple, which is emerging as Dakshina Kashi. Till now, for the development and expansion of Vemulawada Temple, Rs. We have spent 70 crores.
  • M.A &U.D Department for the development of Vemulawada Rs. 50 crores, for the development of Yadadri Rs. 200 crore has been allocated in this budget.
  • Seyam KCR paid special attention to the development of Anjaneya Swami temple in Kondagattu. For temple development Rs. 500 crore was announced.

Special Development Fund (S.D.F):

Rs. 50 crore for Basara Sri Gnana Saraswati Ammavari Temple, Rs. We are developing Dharmapuri Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple with Rs.100 crores and Kaleswara Sri Mukteshwara Swamy Temples with Rs.25 crores through special development funds. Along with these, 8 more temples are being developed.

On the other hand through Special Development Fund (S.D.F) Rs. 120 works have been undertaken in 14 temples at a cost of 106.26 crores.

Common Good Fund (C.G.F):

We are also developing many temples in the state with the funds of Common Good Fund as part of expansion of charitable programs with the development of temples. Rs. Development works of 2,234 temples have been undertaken with 553.44 crore common good fund, 441 works have been completed and another 412 works are in progress. It is estimated that the cost of these works will be Rs.120.38 crores. The joint regime had a matching contribution of 30 per cent, which has been reduced to 20 per cent. Similarly, only Rs. If 3 lakhs are allocated….. in Swarashtram Rs. 10 lakhs has been increased.

Dhupa Deepa Naivedya Scheme (D.D.N.S):

The government strives to ensure that regular worship is held in all the small temples of the state along with the famous shrines. In rural areas till now Dhupa Deepa Naivedya scheme has been applied to 3,645 temples, it has been decided to apply this scheme to 2,796 new temples. In this, we are issuing appointment papers for 2,043 temples. With this, Dhupa Deepa Naivedya Scheme will be implemented in 6,441 temples in rural areas and 100 temples in GHMC, making a total of 6,541 temples. The process of applying this scheme to another 753 temples is going on. Seyam KCR has decided to increase the salaries of priests from Rs.6,000 to Rs.10,000 through Dhupa Deepa Naivedya scheme.

Grant in Aid:

Considering that the management of the temples is also important along with the development of the temples, we have taken special measures for the welfare of the priests and temple staff working in the temple for smooth management. After the formation of Telangana state, we have been paying salaries to the temple staff and priests working in various departments in the Devadaya Department at par with the government employees. We are paying the salaries of 1,463 administrative staff and 1,211 priests for a total of 2,674 people through Grant-in-Aid.

Preservation of Temple Lands:

Devadaya department will take strong action against alienation of temple lands. We took possession of the 6,000 acres of temple lands, which were alienated under the common rule, after a legal battle.

We are setting up shopping complexes, offices, welfare halls and petrol stations in the acquired temple lands to generate revenue for the state government.

Conduct of Festivals, Fairs, Bonas:

We are conducting our festivals and fairs in Saurashtra with great grandeur. Medaram Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara, which is said to be the Kumbh Mela of South India, is being declared as a state festival and is being organized proudly. 75 crore rupees have been allocated for the management of the fair.
