On the 11th of October, Monday, Mr. Satish Chandra Sharma took oath as the Chief Justice of Telangana.
The swearing in ceremony of Justice Satish Chandra Sharma was held around 10:30 A.M.,today.
The appointment of Mr. Satish Chandra Sharma was made by Mr. Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India.
Recently, the President of India appointed chief justices to eight high courts in India. He also reshuffled the current HC chief justices to different HCs.
The appointment was taken after the Supreme Court collegium, headed by the Chief Justice of India Mr. N.V. Ramana had recommended the elevation of eight chief justices. Later, the Centre acted on the recommendation by the collegium and appointed new chief justices to the HCs. The official notification gazette regarding the appointment was made on the 9th of October, Saturday.
Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, the Governor of Telangana, administered the oath of office for the new CJ Justice Satish Chandra Sharma. Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Cabinet ministers, Mr. Somesh Kumar, the Chief Secretary of Telangana and other Telangana HC officials and judges attended the oath taking ceremony of the new CJ.
