K. Kavitha, a senior leader of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) will attend the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPC.)

Akbar Khan, the General Secretary of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference, extended an invitation to Ms. Kavitha, the former Member of Parliament of Nizamabad, Telangana.

The 64th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference is scheduled to be held from the 22nd of September and will continue till the 29th of September in Kampala, Uganda.

This year, the theme of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference is ‘Adaption, engagement, and evolution of parliaments in a rapidly changing Commonwealth.’

Ms. Kavitha will participate in the workshop session of the CPC as an external expert.  She will be a panellist at the workshop named ‘E-Talk-show Panel’ about ‘Combatting rapid urbanisation and rural decline – A challenge for the Commonwealth.’

The workshop is scheduled on the 27th of September, where Ms. Kavitha, accompanied by other panellists, will discuss and share her experience.

The panel will also give suggestions in a draft format and submit it to the CPC as a part of the solutions to rising challenges.

The Parliament of Uganda, under the supervision of Rebecca Kadaga, the Speaker of the Uganda Parliament, will host the 64th CPC 2019.

The CPC is a week long conference under the flagship of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association.  The CPC allows approximately 500 parliamentarians across the globe to come together and discuss the challenges faced by their respective countries.
