K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, on the 5th of May, appointed observers for the upcoming mayoral elections.
The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President KCR appointed State ministers and TRS leaders for monitoring the elections. The mayors (2,) deputy mayors (2) chairpersons (5) and vice chairpersons (5) elections for the recent Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) is scheduled on the 7th of May.
Recently, after winning the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections, the TRS bagged the GWMC elections as well.
According to the TRS leaders, for the Khammam Municipal Corporation, Minister V. Prashanth Reddy and Party General Secretary N. Naresh Reddy would be the observers. In the Warangal Municipal Corporation elections Ministers like A. Indrakaran Reddy and Gangula Kamalakar would be observers.
In Kothur Municipality, Talasani Srinivas Yadav would be in charge and for Nakrekal the TRS General Secretary T. Ravinder Rao would be an observer.
In Siddipet the former Karimnagar Mayor Ravinder Singh and Forest Development Corporation Chairman V. Pratap Reddy would be the observers. For Achampet Municipality Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy and for Jadcherla Civil Supplies Corporation Chairman M. Srinivas Reddy are incharge of the elections.
In addition, the TRS President asked the Party supervisors to reach their assigned municipalities by the evening of the 6th of May, as the elections would be held on the 7th of May. The observers and supervisors would convene the meeting of corporators/councillors and other elected representatives. They would reveal the names of candidates which are provided by the party in a sealed envelope and ensure smooth conduct of the election process.
