Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, addressed the Tribals of Telangana on World Tribal Day.
During the speech on the eve of World Tribal Day, KCR assured that his Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government would conduct a forest land survey. After the land survey, the State Government would solve the long standing Podu Lands issue of the tribals. Many tribals claimed that many forest officials and senior authorities have taken their lands in the name of forest conservation. These tribals/adivasis reside in forests, away from suburban and urban life.
Speaking about tribal culture, the Telangana CM KCR said, “Tribal Culture is like a thread for the garland of the Indian cultural life. Komaram Bheem building in Banjara Hills is ready for inauguration. It would showcase the Telangana tribal exclusive culture to the world.” He further said, “The Government had fulfilled the aspirations of the Tribes in Thanda/Gudem. The Tribal Thandas and Gudems were converted into Gram Panchayats to make the Tribes part of the self-rule. The Government had provided them with an opportunity to become Sarpanches and to be part of the State administration. The ST (Scheduled Tribe) SUB Plan is implemented effectively. Safe and pure drinking water is supplied through Mission Bhagiratha Programme even to the remote Gond Tribal and tribes are prevented from contracting diseases through unsafe water.”
In a statement the TRS President K. Chandrashekar Rao said, the State Government is working towards the growth and development of tribals in the State.
