Amid the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Telangana Government is set to celebrate the 75th Independence Day.

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) decided to celebrate the 75 years of Independence on the 15th of August at the historic Golconda Fort. The last grand Independence Day celebration was held in 2019, pre COVID-19 era. On the 9th of August, the Telangana Chief Secretary Mr. Somesh Kumar held a review meeting and confirmed the celebration of Independence Day. He said, the Telangana Chief Minister Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao would hoist the national flag.

According to the Telangana Chief Secretary on the 15th of August, KCR would hoist the flag at the Golconda Fort around 10:30 A.M., celebrating the 75th Independence Day. Mr. Somesh Kumar is personally supervising all the arrangements and held a review meeting regarding the same on the 9th of August.

During the meeting, Mr. Somesh Kumar asked all the officials to make elaborate arrangements following the COVID-19 norms. In addition, the CS asked the Telangana police department to ensure proper security arrangements, including traffic for the upcoming Independence Day event.

The Road And Building Department was also involved to ensure the necessary infrastructure arrangements at the event.

Besides the police department, the security department and the Road And Building Department, this time, the Health Department also was asked to make the necessary arrangements. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the Health Department of the State was asked to provide masks and sanitizers in sufficient numbers.

Lastly, the Cultural department was also involved with instructions to mobilize cultural troupes in large numbers which should depict the rich cultural heritage of Telangana state.

The event would be a grand celebration with the participation of the Telangana ministers, political leaders, the Chief Minister of Telangana and the Governor of Telangana.

On the 15th of August, 2021, India would celebrate the 75th Independence Day.
