Political remarks made in Telangana in 2024 continue to draw attention. A recent statement by former minister Konda Surekha has brought her past comments about BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) back into focus.
On Thursday, Surekha withdrew her October 2024 remarks against Rama Rao and expressed regret in a post on X. She said her comments were made while criticising the opposition and that she had no intention of hurting him or his family.
“I should not have made those unsubstantiated remarks that I did back then,” she said. Surekha also stated that she had no malicious intent to damage the family’s reputation and regretted any hurt her words may have caused.
Her earlier comments linked Rama Rao to the divorce of actors A Naga Chaitanya and Samantha. Actor Nagarjuna had filed a defamation suit following those remarks.
Surekha’s latest statement has prompted discussion on social media, with some users welcoming her decision and others questioning its timing. Some also speculated about her political plans, though no confirmed move was reported.
