Mr. K.T. Rama Rao, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister of Telangana, demanded action against a parking fee of Rs. 500 at the Secunderabad Railway Station.

On the 10th of November, Mr. K.T. Rama Rao took to Twitter and posted a tweet which read, “Atrocious indeed!  Request Railway minister @AshwiniVaishnaw Ji to direct officials to do away with fleecing citizens as pointed out by Brigadier Jairath ji 👇”

It is to be noted, a retired Army brigadier Mr. A.K. Jairath was charged Rs. 500 for 30 minutes’ parking at the Secunderabad Railway Station.

Meanwhile, Mr. A.K. Jairath brought the matter in the notice of Mr. K.T. Rama Rao and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) through a tweet.

Mr. A.K. Jairath said, “Privatisation Shows its colour.  Parking a car for 31 minutes at a railway station now costs Rs.500 as parking charges.  Whose Vikas?”

He posted the tweet with the receipt, clearly reflecting that the parking fee charged for a period of 31 minutes and 20 seconds, was Rs. 423.73, with 9 percent CGST and GST charged at Rs. 38.14, each.

This is not the first time the citizens of Telangana reported high parking charges.  In the past also, on several occasions, citizens have complained of facing inconvenience because of high parking fees implemented by the authorities at the Secunderabad railway station.

Acting upon the same, Mr. K.T. Rama Rao asked the Railway Minister Mr. Ashwini Vaishnav to take action regarding the complaints.
