On the 7th of November, K.T. Rama Rao, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) Minister of Telangana, inaugurated Hyderabad’s first ever construction and demolition waste management plant at Jeedimetla in Hyderabad.
The new waste management of the 500 TPD capacity plant was constructed at a cost of Rs. 10 crores.
The new plant would be used for the waste such as sand, gravel and bricks and recycles them separately.
It is designed to recycle 50 tonnes of waste per hour, and all the construction and demolition could be sold at Rs. 342 per ton.
The waste management plant is set up at phase 6 of Jeedimetla industrial area by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and Ramky enviro. The management plant is spread across 15 acres.
According to sources, so far 13,14,791.11 metric tonnes of waste has been transferred to the unit from Sachivalayam, Kothwalguda, Fathullaguda, Jeedimetla and Jawaharnagar.
The MAUD Minister even took to Twitter and said, “Will be inaugurating Hyderabad’s first construction & demolition waste mgmt plant at Jeedimetla. One more plant at Fathullaguda coming up.
…Plant has been developed in PPP mode to recycle the waste & create tiles/bricks, road metal,coarse sand to reuse in pavements, construction etc.”
