In Telangana, Mr.Himayat Ali Mirza, Mir Osman Ali Khan’s grandson decided to file a petition against the demolition of King Koti Palace.
On the 25th of April, Monday, opposing the demolition of Nizam’s property, Mr. Himayat Ali Mirza demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe against the claims of others on that property. He also said, he would file a plea in the Telangana High Court (HC.)
It is to be noted, the Nizam’s property, King Koti Palace has been claimed by two real estate businesses, but the Nizam’s trust remains silent. Addressing the media, Mr. Himayar Ali Mirza said, “Many VIPs have been visiting the palace to meet the Nizam. Also, my grandfather Moazzam Jah was married in that place and I have lived there since I was 13 years old.” He further added that the palace is the final major symbol of the last king of princely Hyderabad’s legacy structure.
On Monday, Mr. Himayat Ali Mirza said, “The palace has been sold. I’m curious as to what the state government does when a historic structure is sold. I am filing a writ petition at the high court seeking an injunction to prevent the demolition of any part of the King Koti royal compound.” He further said, “It should be converted into a hospital where individuals can receive free medical treatment.”
